New schools, new friends, new neighbors... new traditions. Twelve-year-old hip hop-loving Eddie Huang (Hudson Yang) and his family are adjusting to their new lives in Orlando yet still maintaining their family values and pursuit of the American Dream. Dad Louis(Randall Park) turned the once-struggling Cattleman’s Ranch into a successful steakhouse. Mom Jessica (Constance Wu) found her own success as a real estate agent, yet still finds time to shop the bargain bin and bond with next door neighbor Honey (Chelsey Crisp) over cocktails and Stephen King novels. Meanwhile, Eddie is growing up and becoming more independent, sometimes defying his overbearing mother’s old-school parenting style, but eventually realizing that she’s got nothing but love for him and his brothers. Emery (Forrest Wheeler), the middle child and hopeless romantic, has no problem with the ladies, including the rollerblading, stay-at-home moms in the neighborhood, and often conspires with baby brother Evan (Ian Chen), the mama’s boy.
