A fantastic true story of how friendship can culminate out of the worst circumstances. One of many true and remarkable stories that came out of WWII. Under the direst of situations enemies drop their hatred and enjoy the company of of those they are told to hate.

This is an excellent movie, a true story of Germans and English shot down in Norway who learn to survive together and become friends. A story of how humans bond and the stupidness of war. Too bad we seldom learn.

Brilliant screenplay. Poignant. Drives home the futility and randomness of war while reminding us of the power of humanity. My only regret is that this film will not be seen by enough people in the North American market. We need more well made films like this.
