Description

Two-time Academy Award® winner Ron Howard delivers the exhilarating true story of a legendary rivalry that rocked the world. During the sexy and glamorous golden age of Formula 1 racing, two drivers emerged as the best: gifted English playboy James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth, The Avengers) and his methodical, brilliant Austrian opponent, Niki Lauda (Daniel Brühl, Inglourious Basterds). As they mercilessly clash on and off the Grand Prix racetrack, the two drivers push themselves to the breaking point of physical and psychological endurance, where there’s no shortcut to victory and no margin for error. Co-starring Olivia Wilde (TRON: Legacy), it’s the heart-racing, epic, action-drama that critics are calling “one of the best movies of this, or any, year” (Pete Hammond, Movieline).

Fantastic Film. Very disappointed I didn’t see this film in the theater. Great story that was told and you even love the heel at the end. Do not worry about not being a formula one fan, you will be at the end of the film.

This is one of those stories you wouldn’t believe if you didn’t know it was true. It’s shocking and compelling and so well done. I LOVE this movie. You do not have to be a racing fan to enjoy this film. Bravo

Apologies as this is not fully a review. But I feel compelled to comment that this is the only movie with a "real life" character (James Hunt) where I find the actual man had more presence, charisma, gravitas, physical appeal etc. than the actor portraying him in the movie. This doesn't take anything away from this film's star...it's just that the real James Hunt was a towering, outsize, one in a million human being who had movie-star like presence in abundance..

Fifth time through this movie and still cried. The passion, the courage, the acting. One of the best movies and one of my favorites. Very moving.

A near perfect Ron Howard production of Formula One racing that even matched up likeness of character to actor as good as possible. I would never have reviewed this except for the fact that I see the video on sale for $5 on here and I hate that I already have it at much higher prices. In fact I liked it so much I bought some 5 copies of the Collector package edition that is a must have for any video collector. (SPOILER) - The only drawback to the picture and story is the tough crash scene and recovery of the main character (of the two), but done so very tastefully and the (known) comeback story is of course remarkable. And the other (slight drawback for some) is the true to life lack of morality by the main character (who died very early in real life) for living a bit too hard. Still a very good story and picture and a must see and must own. You should feel very lucky if you catch it for this extremely low price!

Amazing movie by an amazing director. I never saw this movie when it came out but picked it up recently. I must say I was a little reluctant at first seeing the negative comments but man am I glad I got it. Definitely one I will watch more than once. Anybody that enjoys racing or just the competitive nature of sports should watch this movie and you will be left feeling glad you did.

What a great movie, so hard to believe it was based on a true story.
