Do you believe in love at first sight? Outsiders in a busy Berlin, Marlo and Kirill certainly did not. In fact both boys thought they would never find that special someone. They didn’t even notice each other until they had passed in the street, their hands gently brushing together and their parting glance causing an instant attraction, which catapults them into another world. Silent Youth is a powerful tale of those oft-forgotten moments of finding love and acceptance.

  • Existential

Don’t be put off by my heading it was the first word that came to mind after viewing the film. If you feel on the left side of existence then this is for you. Affirming, touching, the sexuality of the subjects is in my mind irrelevant, it is about what it is to be human, well showing humanity. I was left hanging but one can only relate to ones experiences: so many are left with no voice, silent, their stories will never be heard, we seek others that can comprehend…connect and understand on an emotional level the pain of being in a still hostile world.
  • Missed the point

Bland, bleak piffle, not enough dialogue or acting to convey any deeper message! Should have been a short 7 minutes max! Watch Floating Skyscrapers for true grit!

I watched this film a week ago and I'm still thinking about it every day. This is outstanding, clever, disturbing, enjoyable cinema.
